EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT HEIGHT

Audience: Workplace Appointed Persons where the workplace is likely to be in an exposed location at height

Course aim:The Emergency First Aid at Height course is designed to train individuals and company staff that require appointed person training in basic first aid skills. This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious or is bleeding prior to the arrival of the emergency services. The course provides extra skills in patient injury and illness assessment when the safe evacuation of a casualty from a structure is necessary. The Emergency First Aid course is designed to meet the recommendations of the HSE Health and Safety at work (1981) Regulations for appointed persons in the workplace.

Pre-training requirements: Suitable Rescue Training

Maximum Instructor to student ratio: 1 : 6

Period of valid certification: The certificate is valid for a maximum of three years

Throughout the course, the student will be continually assessed by the course instructor

Only on successful completion of the whole course and examination will the candidate be issued with a Certificate of Competence.
