ROOFTOP SAFETY AND ACCESS

Course duration: 1 Days

Audience: Anyone who by virtue of their work is required to work at height on flat roofs in protected areas.

Course aim: To Provide enough education to allow delegates to operate safely and efficiently on flat roofs.

Course content:

Legislation when working @ height

Risk Assessment for rooftop working

Rooftop hazards and control measures

Safe use of ladders (fixed & portable)

Edge protection

Work restraint systems

Fall arrest systems

PPE (inspection, use and care)

Emergency procedures

Pre-training requirements: Medical Questionnaire

Maximum Instructor to student ratio: 1 : 6

Period of valid certification: The certificate is valid for a maximum of three years, subject to maintenance of skill level.

Throughout the course, the student will be continually assessed and expected to complete a written and practical examination.

Only on successful completion of the whole course and examination will the candidate be issued with a Certificate of Competence.
