Care and Use of Working at Height Equipment

Course duration: 1/2 or 1 Day

Audience: Anyone who by virtue of their work is required to work at height using PPE and Ladders.

 

Course aim: To Provide enough practical experience and education to allow delegates to operate safely and efficiently on site both using recognised access ways and in unprotected areas.

 

Course content:

Legislation when working at height

Personal Protective Equipment – inspection & use

Ladders—Inspection and use

Work restraint Vs Fall Arrest

Risk assessment and work at height hazards

Emergency procedures

Pre-training requirements: Medical Questionnaire

Maximum Instructor to student ratio: 1 : 10 (depending on practical content)

Period of valid certification: The certificate is valid for a maximum of three years.

Throughout the course, the student will be continually assessed and expected to complete a written and practical examination.

Only on successful completion of the whole course and examination will the candidate be issued with a Certificate of Competence.
