Tower Rescue

Course duration: 1 Day

Audience: Anyone who by virtue of their work is required to work at height on Towers, Masts and other lattice structures.

Course aim: To Provide enough practical experience and education to allow delegates evacuate an incapacitated climber from a structure

Course Syllabus:

Morning

Suspension trauma and casualty care

Anchor point selection

Limitations of rescue equipment

Self—Evacuation

Rescue from the structure

Afternoon

Rescue from Fall Arrest lanyards from various positions on the structure with both responsive and un-responsive casualties

Rooftop Rescue (Depending on venue and customer requirements)

Pre-training requirements:

Relevant industrial climber certification

Medical Questionnaire

Maximum Instructor to student ratio: 1 : 6

Period of valid certification: The certificate is valid for a maximum of one years.

Throughout the course, the student will be continually assessed and expected to complete a written and practical examination.

Only on successful completion of the whole course and examination will the candidate be issued with a Certificate of Competence.

The Tower Rescue Course is written and conducted in accordance with BS 8454
